Denver Nuggets
Training camp site: Denver
Training camp starting date: Sept. 28
Team page | Depth chart
Key additions
• PF Al Harrington
• PF Shelden Williams
Key subtractions
• C Johan Petro
• SF Joey Graham
• PF Malik Allen
Probable starters entering camp:
• C Nene
• PF Al Harrington
• SF Carmelo Anthony
• SG Arron Afflalo
• PG Chauncey Billups

Player to Watch: All eyes are on Melo. If he’s not traded by the time camp opens Monday – and all signs point to not –then the Melodrama will only get thicker and thicker. There’s zero chance Anthony refuses to show up for camp; he is an image-conscious superstar who is going about his trade request professionally, as opposed to the Rudy Fernandez scorched-Earth approach in Portland, for example. (Plus, Melo doesn’t want to be fined, nor would he disrespect George Karl that way.) But how Anthony responds to the media attention, how he interacts with his teammates after weeks of news reports, and ultimately whether he’s able to reconnect with Karl will be the three biggest stories of camp for Denver.

Camp Battles: Harrington, Williams and Renaldo Balkman are in the mix for playing time in the frontcourt while Martin and Andersen are out.

Key additions
• SF Wesley Johnson
• PF Michael Beasley
• SG Martell Webster
• PG Luke Ridnour
Key subtractions
• PG Ramon Sessions
• C Al Jefferson
• SF Ryan Gomes
Probable starters entering camp:
• C Darko Milicic
• PF Kevin Love
• SF Corey Brewer
• SG Wesley Johnson
• PG Jonny Flynn

Player to Watch: Michael Beasley. Supposedly, Beasley has had a basketball rebirth. David Kahn said Beasley is off smoking pot and has regained focus in Minnesota. Everyone knows Beasley has serious basketball ability. He was one of the most dominant college freshmen ever. But it hasn't translated yet. With a new situation and a new view on basketball, maybe he starts to find his way.

Camp Battles: Kevin Love has quietly been a little miffed with his role in Minnesota saying he felt more valuable to Team USA than to the Wolves. Right now, it's looking like he'll start. But Michael Beasley could push him for the spot.

Probable starters entering camp:
• C Nenad Krstic
• PF Jeff Green
• SF Kevin Durant
• SG Thabo Sefolosha
• PG Russell Westbrook

Kevin Durant (Getty Images)
Player to Watch: All eyes will surely be on Kevin Durant who has received as much offseason hype as any player. But there are two guys to keep an eye on in Thunder camp: Serge Ibaka and James Harden. Those two player will be as key to OKC's success as anyone. Both are immensely talented and both are expected to take big steps forward this season. Training camp is a chance for both to earn extra minutes, and maybe starting spots.

Camp Battles: The Thunder are pretty set in their ways right now, having started the same five in all but six games last season. But James Harden could push Thabo Sefolosha for the starting 2-guard spot. A big camp that showcases improvements on the defensive end could earn Harden the minutes. Also, Scott Brooks prefers to play just nine and right now, the Thunder's rotation appears set. So how does Cole Aldrich earn minutes in that group?

Portland Trail Blazers
Training camp site: Portland, Ore.
Training camp starting date: Sept. 28
Team page | Depth chart
Key additions
• SG Wesley Matthews
Key subtractions
• PF Juwan Howard
• SG Martell Webster
• SF Luke Babbitt
• PG Armon Johnson
Probable starters entering camp:
• C Marcus Camby
• PF LaMarcus Aldridge
• FS Nicolas Batum
• SG Brandon Roy
• PG Andre Miller

Player to Watch: Greg Oden. Guy's gotta get healthy sometime, right? Oden has been and remains the missing piece of the puzzle for the Blazers, even with the addition of Marcus Camby. If Oden can reach a significant portion of his massive untapped potential, he could be a difference maker for the Blazers, completing the team that's been constructed over the past five years. It's unknown if Oden will even be available for camp, or how much he'll be participating. But even that says something. Oden's got to bounce back hard, and get back to where he showed flashes last year prior to the injury. That's the only way the Blazers can make the jump they need to this year.

Camp Battles: Center's going to be a big one throughout the year, but with Oden not near 100% by any stretch of the imagination, Camby has it on lockdown. Nicolas Batum continues to be one of the better developing small forwards in the league, and his overall play should keep him locked in above the rookie Babbitt. An interesting one? Point guard. Miller was terrific at points last year for the Blazers, but when he wasn't, Jerryd Bayless was increasingly better. Bayless is a fierce competitor. If he were to make a significant jump, that one could get ugly really quick.

Utah Jazz
Training camp site: Salt Lake City, Utah
Training camp starting date: Sept. 28
Team page | Depth chart
Key additions
• C Al Jefferson
• SG Raja Bell
• C Francisco Elson
Key subtractions
• C Carlos Boozer
• SG Kyle Korver
• SG Wesley Matthews
• C Kosta Koufos
Probable starters entering camp:
• C Mehmet Okur
• PF AL Jefferson
• SF Andrei Kirilenko
• SG C.J. Miles
• PG Deron Williams

Player to Watch: Paul Millsap. Al Jefferson was brought in to replace Carlos Boozer, after Paul Millsap was given a huge new contract to replace Boozer. Now that Jefferson has arrived, Millsap finds himself in one of two positions entering camp. He either needs to battle on the glass and play "big" enough to prove he can play in tandem with Jefferson, or he needs to detonate to a degree where Sloan has a legitimate quandray on his hands between the two. Under the right circumstances, either is possible, though neither is likely.

Camp Battles: Outside of the aforementioned Millsap-Jefferson rumble, shooting guard should be lively. Raja Bell has had enough time off to be completely healthy, but he's got a lot of miles on those wheels. C.J. Miles has a fresher set of treads, but he's also maddeningly inconsistent.
