WASHINGTON -- The Wizards signed forward Mike Hall to a 10-day contract Wednesday and released center James Lang.
Hall, who played at George Washington, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Wizards last summer but was cut at the end of preseason. He played in 29 games for the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA Development League, averaging 15.6 points and 8.5 rebounds. He was on the inactive list for Wednesday night's game against the Miami Heat.
Lang played only 55 minutes in 11 games this season for Washington.
Meanwhile, All-Star forward Caron Butler missed his third straight game because of back spasms. He was activated for the game in the hopes that he could return, but the team announced minutes before the tip-off that he would not play.
"We took an MRI, and there's nothing structurally wrong," coach Eddie Jordan said. "It's just back spasms."
Jordan said forward Antawn Jamison, who hasn't played since spraining his left knee on Jan. 30, could return for Friday's game against Atlanta.
"He had a good practice and a good shootaround, and we want to give him another practice," Jordan said.
