Lakers' Odom has shoulder surgery, won't miss camp

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

He will wear a sling for 10 days before starting rehabilitation. He is expected to be ready in time for the start of training camp in October, the team said.

The 40-minute arthroscopic surgery was done by Dr. Lewis Yocum at Kerlan Jobe Surgery Center in Los Angeles.

Odom averaged 15.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 56 games this season. He hurt his shoulder March 2 against Sacramento before returning to play the final 23 games, including the playoffs, with the injury.

Odom also missed 21 games because of a sprained right knee.
