T-Wolves guard Foye to miss significant time due to bad knee
MINNEAPOLIS -- Timberwolves point guard Randy Foye will be out several weeks because of a lingering knee injury.
Tests revealed a stress reaction in his left kneecap, and the team said the second-year player will be out indefinitely.
Foye, an NBA all-rookie team selection last season, is an important part of this revamped, inexperienced squad that has only five returning players on the 15-man roster.
Foye averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 assists and 22.9 minutes while playing all 82 games last year. Sebastian Telfair, Marko Jaric and Greg Buckner are expected to assume the ballhandling while Foye is out.
After being hindered by a sore knee throughout most of the preseason, Foye played 16 minutes in last Friday's exhibition game and took the court Saturday. He was unable to practice this week.
