AMHERST, Mass. -- Lou Williams scored 27 points and Thaddeus Young added 21 to help the Philadelphia 76ers beat the NBA champion Boston Celtics 98-92 on Wednesday night in the exhibition opener for both teams.

Williams was 7-for-12 from the field and 12-for-13 from the line.
Leon Powe led the Celtics with 12 points and Tony Allen had 11.
The Celtics' Big Three -- Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett -- got off to a fast start, but played limited minutes. Allen had nine points, on three 3-pointers in an opening burst, while Pierce had eight and Garnett six.
Williams scored 16 points in the final quarter as Philadelphia rallied from a 14-point deficit. The 76ers outscored Boston 11-2 in the final 2:07.
Boston second-round draft choice Bill Walker had a pair of windmill dunks to help the Celtics take a 54-44 lead at the half. Full story
Raptors 113, Knicks 111
TORONTO -- Chris Bosh had 20 points and seven rebounds and the Toronto Raptors spoiled Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni's preseason debut with the team.
Andrea Bargnani added 15 points, Kris Humphries had 13 and Jermaine O'Neal added eight points and six rebounds for Toronto, which won for the second time in two nights. On Tuesday night, the Raptors beat Cleveland 104-84 on the road.
David Lee led the Knicks with 22 points and nine rebounds, Zach Randolph had 19 points and 13 rebounds and Nate Robinson added 16 points. Stephon Marbury came off the bench to score 10 points in 23 minutes.
The Raptors led 103-99 with 4:05 remaining, but Lee capped a five-point spurt with a breakaway dunk to give the Knicks a 104-103 edge with 1:52 to go, forcing Toronto to call a timeout.
Jason Kapono restored Toronto's lead with a 3-pointer from the right wing, Will Solomon followed with a jumper and Kapono made two free throws to give the Raptors a 110-104 lead at the 53-second mark.
Magic 118, Bobcats 80
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Dwight Howard scored 20 points to lead Orlando.
Rashard Lewis had 17 points to lead three other Magic players in double figures as Orlando spoiled the debut of new Bobcats coach Larry Brown.
Charlotte trailed by 31 points after only one quarter, and Orlando's lead grew to as much as 44 in the fourth quarter. The Bobcats shot only 28.4 percent and frequently sent the Magic to the line, where they hit 48 of 53.
Gerald Wallace led Charlotte with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jason Richardson added 15 points.
In the first quarter of Brown's latest NBA stint, his team made only 3 of 21 shots and committed 13 fouls, sending the Magic to the line 20 times.
Hornets 105, Pacers 71
INDIANAPOLIS -- Chris Paul scored 17 points, and New Orleans beat the Pacers in Indiana's preseason opener.
Former Pacer Peja Stojakovic scored 14 points and Tyson Chandler had 11 rebounds for the Hornets, who topped Golden State 106-103 in their preseason opener on Sunday.
It was the first time Pacers fans got to see their new-look team. The Pacers made two draft-day moves that brought seven new players, including point guards T.J. Ford from Toronto and Jarrett Jack from Portland.
Ford led the Pacers with 15 points in just under 20 minutes. Jack had 11 points and eight rebounds, but had eight turnovers.
Indiana's Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy and Travis Diener sat out with injuries.
Pistons 85, Bucks 71
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Chauncey Billups scored 12 points and Tayshaun Prince added 11 to help Detroit.
The Bucks were missing several key players, including first-round pick Joe Alexander (abdominal strain), Richard Jefferson (quad), Luke Ridnour (knee) and Charlie Bell (Achilles tendinitis). Andrew Bogut played after missing Milwaukee's first preseason game because of a migraine, but finished with only seven points.
Arron Afflalo led the Pistons with 15 points.
Charlie Villanueva had 20 points for Milwaukee and Malik Allen added 18.
Milwaukee led 25-10, but couldn't sustain the pace. Detroit pulled to 42-37 by halftime, and took command with a dominant third period.
Wizards 89, Grizzlies 80
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- JaVale McGee, Washington's first-round draft choice out of Nevada-Reno, had 20 points and eight rebounds for Washington.
McGee shot 8-for-12 from the field for Washington. Andray Blatche scored 14 points and DerMarr Johnson had 11.
Rudy Gay scored 21 points on 5-for-19 shooting for Memphis, winless in two games. Hakim Warrick added 16 points, but was 3-for-9 as the Grizzlies shot 35 percent on the night. Greg Buckner finished with 11 for Memphis and rookie Marc Gasol had 10.
Meanwhile, O.J. Mayo, the third-overall pick from Southern Cal, connected on 3 of 11 shots from the field for Memphis and finished with seven points.
The Wizards were without Brendan Haywood, who is awaiting surgery on a torn ligament in his right wrist, and Antawn Jamison, who left Tuesday night's loss to Dallas with a bruised right knee. An MRI on Wednesday showed no further damage, and Jamison is expected to be ready by the start of the regular season.
Hawks 100, Suns 96
PHOENIX -- Marvin Williams scored 19 points, Josh Smith had 18 and the Atlanta Hawks spoiled Terry Porter's debut as Phoenix coach, rallying to beat the Suns.
It was the second victory in two exhibition games for the Hawks, who also defeated Orlando on Monday.
Williams and Smith got lots of offensive support. Ex-Sun Joe Johnson scored 14 points, Flip Murray had 13 and Al Horford and Acie Law 10 each.
Shaquille O'Neal topped the Suns with 21 points and 10 rebounds in 23 minutes. Alando Tucker scored 14, Matt Barnes and Louis Amundson 12 apiece, and Grant Hill 10.
The Suns, playing without Amare Stoudemire (torn iris in right eye) and Leandro Barbosa (personal reasons), showed off their newfound defensive prowess in the first quarter. They held the Hawks to 12 points, just two in the final six minutes, on 29.4 percent shooting (5-for-17). During the period, they also limited Atlanta's reserves to two shots and no points in a total of 19 minutes.
Warriors 110, Trail Blazers 95
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Kelenna Azubuike scored 18 points, all in the second half, and Brandan Wright added 16 points for Golden State.
Portland center Greg Oden, the first pick of the 2007 draft, scored 14 points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge also scored 14 points for the Blazers while Jerryd Bayless had 13.
Azubuike, who didn't play during the first half, hit 7 of 10 shots during the second half as the Warriors (1-1) rallied from a four-point halftime deficit.
Golden State, which trailed 78-77 after three quarters, outscored Portland 33-17 during the fourth quarter to pull away. Azubuike scored 11 points during the fourth quarter.
Wright scored 10 of his 16 points during the second half, and tied a team high with five rebounds. Corey Maggette added 15 points for Golden State while Andris Biedrins scored 13.
