Roundup: Allen, K.G. power Celtics to 7th straight win

BOSTON -- Ray Allen scored 23 points and Kevin Garnett added 16 to lead the Boston Celtics to their seventh straight victory, 102-78 over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night.

Allen was 10-for-15 from the field, including 3-for-5 on 3-pointers. In the last three games, he is 13-for-19 from behind the arc.

He scored 11 straight Boston points in the third quarter - three baskets in a row from 3-point land as the Celtics (15-2) extended an 18-point halftime lead to 73-47.

Rajon Rondo had 12 assists for the Celtics, including one on the last basket of the third quarter, a perfectly executed alley-oop to Garnett for a dunk.

Tony Allen and Leon Powe each scored 10 points for the Celtics. Paul Pierce was limited to six points on 1-for-6 shooting.

It was another poor offensive night for the 76ers (7-9), who had their lowest-scoring game and first half of the season. Their previous low was 80 points in loss to Utah on Nov. 11.

They scored a season-low 12 points in the second quarter, as the Celtics opened a 46-28 lead. Boston opened the quarter with a 9-0 run, capped by a three-point play by Powe, to take a 33-16 lead. Full story

SALT LAKE CITY -- Deron Williams had nine of his 15 assists during a 44-point third quarter, and the Utah Jazz pulled away for a victory over the Sacramento Kings.

Williams finished with 13 points before sitting out the fourth quarter and resting his left ankle, which he sprained in the preseason and caused him to miss 13 games. He had done enough running in the third period already when the Jazz outscored the Kings 44-17, going 16-for-19 from the floor and making 10 of 13 foul shots to take a 94-67 lead into the fourth.

C.J. Miles scored 16 of his 18 in the third, including a dunk off an alley-oop from Williams during a 3-on-none break as the Jazz blew open the game after letting the Kings tie it at 50 at halftime.

Utah's 44 points in the third were six off the team record and the most by the Jazz in a period since they scored 46 in the second quarter on Jan. 19, 1992.
