Warriors' Jackson picks up automatic suspension with 16th technical

NEW YORK -- Golden State Warriors leading scorer Stephen Jackson was suspended one game without pay by the NBA for receiving his 16th technical foul this season.

NBA executive vice president of operations Stu Jackson announced the discipline on Monday.

Jackson received his 16th technical with 3:54 remaining in the third period of Golden State's 154-130 home loss to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. He will miss the Warriors' game at home against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.

A player or coach receives an automatic one-game suspension after receiving his 16th technical foul. Every other technical foul beyond 16 (18, 20, 22, etc.) also results in a one-game suspension without pay.
