Refs correct to wave off Bulls' winning shot, league says

NEW YORK -- The NBA says the review that overturned a winning shot by Chicago's Brad Miller was correct and handled appropriately.

Referees looked at video replay for about three minutes before determining that Miller's shot came after the final buzzer, giving Denver a 90-89 victory Tuesday. Though a review is supposed to be completed in a two-minute period, crew chief Mark Wunderlich asked the truck if there were any additional angles.

He was provided with the overhead view that showed the ball was still on Miller's fingertips at the buzzer.

NBA spokesman Tim Frank says "the replay was handled by the book and the referee made the right decision," adding there was no issue with the officials taking extra time.

David Stern decided a long time ago that he was going to have inferior refs and whenever they made a mistake , the league would defend them no matter what. That's why countless players , coaches , GM's and even owners have been fined or suspended whenever they criticize Stern's incompetent officiating crews. Anyopne remember when he actually threatened to ban Van Gundy permanantly when he had the ...(more)

"Sorry, I know we cut our refs pay, but if we admit that it's justified because our refs aren't very good, then we'd have to admit to going cheap and offering an inferior product.  They totally blew it and allowed a game to hinge on their bad call, but you get what you pay for."

The fact is, these things (borderline correct/incorrect calls) happen, and if it takes 20 mins

Was made when Chauncey missed the second free throw with .6 seconds left.  There is no way that Noah got control of the rebound and called timeout in .3 seconds.

Yeah I know some of you think the Bulls should've won like me and others say the call was correct. I'm arguing my case that the call was not conclusive and couldn't be overturned. After watching the replay from many different angles i still couldn't tell.

The Refs signaled good on the floor.  All the video evidence either showed he got the shot off or it was way too close to call.  The overhead shot is dumb because you still can't tell if the ball is in his hands still.

All the over head shot shows is that his hand is at least over the top of the ball (higher than it) but you can't tell if it's touching.  When you
