Thunder's Livingston has surgery to remove staples in knee

MIAMI -- Oklahoma City guard Shaun Livingston had surgery Tuesday to remove staples from an earlier procedure on his left knee.

"Everything went well," coach Scott Brooks said before the Thunder played the Heat in Miami. "It was minor surgery."

Brooks said there's no timetable for the return of Livingston, who has spent nearly three years trying to recover from tearing three ligaments in an ugly spill during a game in February 2007.

"He's going to be fine," Brooks said. "I haven't heard how many days or weeks, but they just said everything went well. They were pleased with what happened this morning."

Dr. James Andrews, who has worked on Livingston before, handled Tuesday's operation in Birmingham, Ala.
