Center line: Rockets sign Cousin, recall Thabeet
HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets have signed center Marcus Cousin to a non-guaranteed contract and assigned him to Rio Grande Valley, their developmental league affiliate.
The Rockets also recalled center Hasheem Thabeet from Rio Grande Valley and waived forward DeMarre Carroll.
The 6-foot-11 Cousin played at Houston. Last month, he signed a 10-day contract with Utah and played in four games. Cousin was a D-League All-Star this season, averaging 14.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.16 blocks in 38 games for the Austin Toros.
The 7-3 Thabeet was assigned to Rio Grande Valley on March 21 and averaged nine points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in seven games. Acquired in a deadline deal with Memphis, Thabeet has played in two games with the Rockets.
The 6-8 Carroll also joined Houston in the deadline deal and played in four games.
