Dalembert injures left ankle after powering Rockets' win
Rockets center Samuel Dalembert rescued the Rockets with a pair of put-back buckets in overtime, the second coming on a break when he slammed home a Kevin Martin miss with 11 seconds left, giving the Rockets the win. It came with a cost, however.
Dalembert turned his left ankle on the play. He stayed in the game, but could not yet know how his ankle will react. His play has keyed the Rockets' turnaround, but he would be even tougher to replace than usual with Jordan Hill battling the flu.
When you haven't got time to really rest it, you keep going," Dalembert said. "Being off [Friday], I have to get that ankle ready and be able to get better by the game.
"We'll see how it is. Usually, the first 24 hours is when you realize how it is. It's up to me [Thursday] to keep doing treatment, keep it elevated ... so for [Friday], it doesn't swell up as big to bother me."
In other Rockets news, those players that nearly were traded to the Hornets had a good time with the meeting with their "former team."
Luis Scola sent a tweet, "[Thursday] we play versus New Orleans Hornets, my former team ... Well, at least for two hours they were my team, ha."
Kevin Martin thanked Hornets coach Monty Williams for all he taught him in his time in New Orleans.
Goran Dragic did not think of it at all, until he saw Scola's tweet.
They had been headed to New Orleans in the deal that would have brought Pau Gasol to Houston and sent Chris Paul to the Lakers, but the deal fell through when David Stern refused to allow it.
"I checked when I got "traded' the first time, when is going to be this day," Scola said. "I checked we, New Orleans, was going to play here [Friday]. But I was only with New Orleans for like two hours.
"So, can I call New Orleans my former team?"
