13-game losing streak 'embarrassing'
What's that expression? The first step to a solution is admitting you have a problem.
Derrick Brown was the Bobcat to admit Friday what a problem a 13-game losing streak represents.
"It's embarrassing," Brown said after a 95-64 loss to the Bulls, tying a franchise record for consecutive defeats. "As a man, you've got to find a way. Only so many times (will) you let someone take your lunch money before you do something."
The schoolyard bullies are everywhere for the Bobcats these days. They've now been beaten by 30 or more points in three of their last five games. And the upcoming home games -- Clippers Saturday followed by 76ers Monday, suggest no relief in sight.
Coach Paul Silas has been saying things will stabilize once his top three scorers -- Corey Maggette, Gerald Henderson and D.J. Augustin -- are back from injury. Maggette played briefly Friday after missing more than a month with a hamstring strain. Silas intends to start him against the Clippers.
Silas' take:
"There's no excuse for the way we're playing. If everything was in sync and we were playing like this, I just couldn't take it."
