Evans' rebounding sparks Clippers' victory
Sometimes on the road, it's going to get ugly. And when things are at their ugliest, the Clippers' Reggie Evans is at his best.
The veteran power forward came off the bench to pull down 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, in the Clippers' 78-77 win at Philadelphia on Friday.
"No question about it, they were getting frustrated. The fans were getting frustrated. The coach was getting frustrated," Evans said. "I just did what I had to do. It is just all about being aggressive and just beating them to the punch."
Evans keyed a fourth-quarter run, forcing turnovers on three key possessions.
"He brings energy. He is a wild card out there," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said. "He got spread out a couple of times, but his effort, his energy, is contagious. Guys feed off him."
With Philadelphia playing a smaller lineup at times, Evans began licking his chops.
"They are playing four guards and one big man, and you have to take advantage of an opportunity like that, just like them trying to take advantage of us on the other end," he said. "You have to make them go back to the drawing board."
