Love returns from suspension with solid performance

  •

At least Kevin Love only broke a pair of kitchen speakers, not a big-screen television.

That's what Al Jefferson did a few seasons ago, when he watched his Timberwolves play from his suburban Minneapolis home while he was rehabilitating from major knee surgery.

Love's TV is intact after he served a two-game suspension for stepping on Houston forward Luis Scola's face and chest last Saturday.

But his speakers got blasted out when he turned up the volume at the end of Tuesday's victory over Sacramento, which Love watched from his downtown high-rise and tweeted commentary about.

On Friday, the league leader in minutes played went back to work after getting some much needed, if forced, rest.

"It's got to help him some, but it's a heck of a way to help, though," Wolves coach Rick Adelman said. "It's an expensive way to do it."

Fresh off an $83,000-plus suspension, Love delivered a league-leading eighth 30/10 game with a 32-point, 12-rebound night that still wasn't enough because his team committed a season-high 27 turnovers.

"It's tough to miss two games, you never want to do that," Love said. "I'm looking at it as a blessing in disguise, a chance to get some rest. You never want to let down your team. It was really strange, sitting there, watching. I don't like it. I don't want to be sitting out anytime soon."
