Victory in Philadelphia carries special meaning

  •

The Spurs are 2-0 on their nine-game Rodeo Road Trip after Wednesday night's 100-90 victory over the 76ers. San Antonio also snapped a four-game losing streak in Philadelphia.

The Spurs (18-9) grabbed control Wednesday with a solid third quarter, which Tim Duncan said was further proof of a team coming together.

"We play consistently," he said. "They hit some shots early on that kept them in the game, and we made some adjustments and just stuck with it, and we got our defense to start working for us.

"We are starting to play the way we want to play for longer periods of time, and as long as we can continue to do that, we will be okay."

Tony Parker added that getting a win in Philly shouldn't be overlooked.

"Our history here is really bad," he said. "Since I have been here, I think we have won two games, so it is a huge win for us. We play a lot better on the road. We are going in the right direction.

"The young guys are improving. They are playing better on the road. They are playing with confidence. Everything is going well so far. Before you know it, we will get Manu back and we can start rolling.

San Antonio continues its roadie Saturday at New Jersey.
