On the road again

  •

After establishing themselves as a pretty good home team by going 4-3 at the Wells Fargo Center against playoff teams during the past two weeks, the 76ers take their show on the road.

The Sixers, who have played 18 of their first 27 games at home, begin a stretch Saturday (at Cleveland) in which they play seven of their next eight on the road. They also face Charlotte (Monday), Orlando (Wednesday), Minnesota (Feb. 19), Memphis (Feb. 21), Houston (Feb. 22) and finish it out Detroit (Feb. 28) after the All-Star break. Dallas (Feb. 17) is the only home game during that span.

Sixers coach Doug Collins said he was looking forward to his team going on the road to see how they stack up. His goal coming into the season was for the Sixers to win 75 percent of their home games (they're 13-5) and go .500 on the road (they're 5-4).

"We need to get on the road and play," Collins said. "I think it gives you more of an edge. I think our players need to get out."

The players on the Atlantic Division leaders are also looking forward to seeing how they stack up without the home fans behind them.

"We want to get out on the road and test the waters," said forward Thaddeus Young.
