Chandler 'disappointed' at All-Star snub

  •

--Tyson Chandler admitted he was "a little disappointed" to learn he was not among the names announced Thursday night as reserves for the Eastern Conference All-Star team. Chandler is averaging a career-high 12 points per game and 9.9 rebounds and is leading the NBA in shooting with 69.7 percent from the field. The East coaches, who select the reserves, instead chose Pacers center Roy Hibbert, who has very similar numbers but is on a team with a winning record.

--One of the funnier stories involving Jeremy Lin is how he has been crashing at his brother's apartment in lower Manhattan and last Friday had to resort to sleeping on teammate Landry Fields' couch. Lin's contract wasn't guaranteed, so being unsure how long he'd remain with the Knicks, he didn't want to lock himself into an expensive New York lease. But the Knicks obviously held onto him after his strong performance last Saturday over the Nets and as a result he passed the deadline to where his contract will now be fully guaranteed for the rest of the season. As for a place to live, former Knick David Lee, who teamed with Lin last season in Golden State, offered his condo near the Knicks' practice facility in Westchester County.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I think it's a great story. It's a testament to perseverance and hard work and I think a good example for kids everywhere." -- Lakers star Kobe Bryant, on Knicks guard Jeremy Lin's surging, surprising stardom.
