Paul puts on show in homecoming

  •

It's always good to play well, but when you can play well with your friends and family in the crowd, it's even nicer.

Saturday, the Clippers won their fourth road game on their current six-game road swing, and they did in guard Chris Paul's home state.

Paul, who grew up in Winston-Salem, N.C., led the Clippers to a 111-86 blowout win at Charlotte.

"We knew how important this game was," Paul said. "It has been a long road trip. We gave one away in Cleveland -- they played well but we felt like we gave one away -- and this was one of those games where we knew that if we came in and made a difference early that we could put them away."

Against the Bobcats, Paul scored 18 points and dished out 14 assists, finding the Clippers' big men, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, for thundering slam dunks.

"He's a great player," Griffin said. "You see the way he passes the ball and how he manages the ball, manages the time, manages the whole game, and at any given point he can score if he needs to. Having a point guard be that kind of player is huge."

The Clippers continue their road trip Monday at Dallas.
