'Lin-sanity' downs Lakers
Kobe Bryant scored 34. Jeremy Lin scored 38.
And Lin's New York Knicks beat Bryant's Lakers on Friday night.
The Lakers' 92-85 loss in New York was inspiring for many onlookers caught up in the frenzy that is "Lin-sanity," but the Lakers came away frustrated.
"He's been hot," Lakers center Andrew Bynum said. "(Friday) we just added to his hype -- probably kept him in the league for 10 years."
The Lakers' defense had been among the league's best this season, but Lakers coach Mike Brown was disappointed in the way the Lakers closed off the paint against Lin. Maybe it didn't matter that much, because Lin showed he could make some jump shots also in going 13 of 23 from the field.
"We came up with a strategy that we thought would be effective, but he was knocking down his jump shot, penetrating and he got around our guards," Bryant said.
Bryant will try to get the Lakers back on track Sunday in Toronto.
