Udrih frustrated by small role
Add Beno Udrih to the list of Bucks players who are unsure of their role and playing time.
Udrih, whom the Bucks acquired in a trade from the Kings last summer, said he's still struggling to find his niche on the team.
Udrih played major minutes last season for the Kings. He started 64 games, averaging 13.7 points and 34.6 minutes a game.
This season?
Udrih has yet to start a game and is averaging a pedestrian 5.2 points and just 16.6 minutes.
The most minutes the combo guard has received in any game this season was 26. In four of the last six games, the 29-year-old Slovenian didn't play more than 14 minutes. He played 18 minutes Saturday night in the Bucks' 99-94 loss to the Magic in Milwaukee.
"It's been frustrating; I'm not going to lie," Udrih told the Racine (Wis.) Journal Times. "Everybody that knows basketball a little bit knows it's tough coming from 34 to 15 minutes. It's different, totally different, mentality for coming off the bench. I just need to get used to it.
"They're the head coaches and they put this team together. They play the guys who they feel will help the team."
Udrih and the Bucks will face the Heat Monday night in Milwaukee. In the last game against the Heat on Feb. 1, Udrih played a mere six minutes -- even though he made 3-of-4 field-goal attempts.
"I'll try to stay positive as much as I can and do whatever I can when I get in," Udrih said. "But, like I said, it's tough."
