Sellout crowd fills Verizon Center to see Heat
:
--JaVale McGee led the Wizards with 24 points, but was well below his blocked-shots average, with just one for the game.
"We played hard. We just couldn't get them in the long run. I felt like we were out there trying to be as aggressive as they are. We weren't trying to be intimidated by them," McGee said.
--Nick Young was second in scoring with 22 points, was way out of his league trying to defend Wade.
"It's tough (defending the Heat), especially when they got a triple header out there. It's always a great scorer on the court, a great player on the court. It's tough. But we fought, we was right there until the end," Young said.
--Maurice Evans scored five points, but in 13:42 minutes on the court, provided the kind on veteran presence the Wizards needed against not only a superior team, but a team than can be very intimidating.
"They have great ability to execute plays. LeBron (James) and Dwyane (Wade) really create opportunities for their team. We competed tonight with an elite team but it got away from us in the fourth quarter. We just didn' t execute on certain plays and that really hurt us and gave them momentum. We have to be more consistent and we' ll learn from this experience," Evans said.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"As a team, I hope not. Me, I don't get starstruck for no one. We put on our clothes the same way. We put on our shoes the same way. When you step between the lines, all the friends and all that goes away," -- John Wall when asked if he or anyone on the Wizards got starstruck watching Wade and James play.
