Wizards' Lewis joins Pierce, Kidd with points, boards, shots mark

  •

An incredibly sparse crowd showed up at the Palace of Auburn Hills to see two of the league's worst teams -- the Wizards and the Pistons -- on Sunday. But the night belonged to Rashard Lewis, who reached a career milestone as he passed the 15,000-point mark.

Lewis came into the game late in the second half and scored 10 points, and he joined Paul Pierce and Jason Kidd as the only players in NBA history with 15,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 1,500 3-point shots.

"That's most definitely a big honor, but overall, we got the win tonight and that makes it even better, when you get to 15,000 points and also get the win," said Lewis, who missed three straight games with a sore left knee and wasn't even sure he was going to play.

"I think Coach [Randy Wittman] was going to try to leave me over there [on the bench] as long as possible, just in case they did need me," Lewis said. "But he put me in in the fourth quarter, and I knocked down a couple of shots. It felt good."
