In the wake of his comments that he could not rule out one day eventually returning to play for the Cavaliers, LeBron James had attempted to reassure those in Miami that his focus remains on the success of the Heat.
"They shouldn't be worried at all," he said, as the Heat returned to Miami with a 90-78 victory Sunday over the Magic, with the Kings up next on Tuesday night in the second game of this three-game homestand. "I love the fans in Miami and I'm here.
"The question was basically could I see myself playing back (in Cleveland). I said yeah, in the sense of I don't know what my future holds and I don't want to take that out, but I mean I love the fans of Miami and I got everything invested with this team and I'm looking forward to the years to come."
James has opt-outs in his Heat contract starting in the 2014 offseason.
He joked about a new "LeBron Watch" having started.
"I mean I'm already on 'LeBron Watch,'" he said. "For the most part, everything I do is a 'LeBron Watch.' Like I said, my mindset is on this season. My mindset is on helping this team win a championship and continuing to get better every day."
James stressed that his two young sons and fiancee now live with him in South Florida, unlike last season.
"Like I said, it was a very difficult year for me last year, a transition year for myself, on the court and off the court," he said. "So I'm very comfortable when I'm with my whole family and my family is down there and I feel great."
