--G Ty Lawson redeemed himself Tuesday against the Lakers even though the Nuggets lost 104-100 to fall behind 2-0 in the first-round series. Lawson struggled in Game 1, shooting just 3-of-11 for seven points and handing out two assists. But Lawson on Tuesday was much more aggressive, scoring a team-high 25 points while handing out seven assists.

--C JaVale McGee was looked upon at the start of the playoffs as a guy who could provide some much-needed offense off the bench. After all, he closed the season with 19 points in 18 minutes at Minnesota. But McGee, playing in his first postseason in his four-year career, has struggled offensively so far. In two games, he's averaging just 3.5 points while having shot 2-of-12. But McGee did have six blocks and nine rebounds Tuesday against the Lakers.

--F Corey Brewer has been one of the Nuggets to have provided energy in both playoff games against the Lakers. Brewer on Tuesday shot 5-of-7 for 13 points and had three steals. He's averaging 12 points in the series. Brewer is gaining the trust of coach George Karl even though he had appeared in just six playoff games in four seasons before this one.
