--G Tony Parker scored a game-high 18 points in 28 minutes in Wednesday's 114-83 rout of Utah. Parker had to convince Gregg Popovich to play that much, essentially begging the Spurs coach for more time in the third quarter. "I wanted to keep playing to stay in shape because I did not play a lot," Parker said. "After Game 1, we had three days off and after this one we get another three days off. To stay in a rhythm I wanted to play a little bit more because I felt like I did not play a lot lately. I also wanted to stay in because I knew I was not going to play a lot in the fourth quarter."

--C Tiago Splitter was cleared medically to play Wednesday despite a left wrist bone bruise suffered in Game 1. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, however, elected to keep the backup out. "He'd be a lot better this weekend," Popovich said.

--F Tim Duncan scored 17 points in Game 1 to become the seventh player in NBA history with 4,000 points in the playoffs. He now has 4,019 points in 178 playoff games.
