WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Washington Wizards have
signed Olympian Peter John Ramos. Ramos is a member of Puerto Rico's
Olympic team, which will compete in the upcoming Olympic Games. Per team
policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to have Peter under contract with the Wizards," said
Ernie Grunfeld, president of basketball operations.
"Peter (7 feet, 3 inches) has great size, a good shooting touch, gets up
and down the floor well, and at 19, has the potential to be a very solid
NBA player."
Ramos, selected by the Wizards in the second round of the 2004 NBA
Draft, was an early entry candidate after playing the last four seasons
with Criollos De Caguas of the Superior Basketball League (BSN) in
Puerto Rico.
