Rockets waive Zimmerman, sign Barrett

HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets waived guard Derrick Zimmerman and signed rookie guard Andre Barrett.

Barrett played in five preseason games with the New York Knicks, who waived him Monday.

Zimmerman averaged just 6.6 minutes in five preseason games with Houston.

Bulls release Trent, Trybanski

EERFIELD, Ill. -- The Chicago Bulls waived forward Gary Trent and center Cezary Trybanski.

Trent was signed as a free agent on Oct. 5, but did not appear in any preseason games.

Trybanski appeared in four preseason games. He came to Chicago as part of the six-player trade that sent Jamal Crawford to New York on Aug. 5.
