Which Vince Carter will the Nets get?

Maybe Ratner and Jay-Z didn't think this thing all the way through during their recent pow-wow at the 40-40 Club. The loss of Martin didn't have a quick fix. The Nets are fooling themselves if they think this is it.

Toronto giving up Carter cheap? Please. It finally gets rid of its cancer and helped itself for the rest of the season and the foreseeable future. The two Williamses will be an asset to a team that seems to be at it's best when scrappy. Rumors are that Mourning, Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall may head to Miami for Udonis Haslem, Eddie Jones and promising prospect Dorell Wright, a 19-year old who Shaquille O'Neal has predicted will one day be a star.

The Raptors also added a pair of first-round picks that will likely land somewhere in the teens. The upcoming draft class isn't considered very deep, but you never know what gem can be uncovered or what other moves the picks will help facilitate.

Chris Bosh can now finally be the focal point. Sam Mitchell can now create his offense around hustle and Rafer Alston's penetration. In lieu of Carter, they have a blue print.

The only blue print visible in New Jersey is Jay-Z's album. What the soon-to-be Brooklyn Nets have is a hope, a prayer and no frontcourt.

Still consider the acquisition of Carter a bargain? If you do, just remember, Ratner is purchasing him at his own risk, and Toronto won't be giving him a receipt.
