MILWAUKEE -- The Atlanta Hawks activated rookie Josh Smith from the injured list before Saturday night's game at
Milwaukee, general manager Billy Knight said.
To make room for Smith on the roster, the team placed guard Kenny
Anderson on the injured list with a strained left hamstring.
Smith, who next week will participate in the Rookie Challenge and NBA
Slam-Dunk contest as part of the NBA All-Star weekend in Denver, has
missed the last five games with a sprained right ankle.
He will be the Hawks' first representative in the All-Star events since
Shareef Abdur-Rahim in 2002.
Smith is averaging 7.8 points and 4.7 rebounds in 40 games, including 25
as a starter.
