CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte Bobcats forward Tamar Slay will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle, coach Bernie Bickerstaff said Tuesday.
Slay appeared in eight games, and averaged 3.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 9.8 minutes. He was placed on the injured list Dec. 14 and has missed the last 43 games.
Slay was placed on the injured list one other time this season, from Nov. 16-27.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound forward signed with the Bobcats as a free agent on July 14, 2004 after spending the first two years of his NBA career in New Jersey.
The Bobcats play Wednesday at Denver.
