| 1. Milwaukee Bucks |
Andrew Bogut, C, Utah: The Bucks have been in search of a big man seemingly forever, and can't pass up on one who is undoubtedly going to make teammates better.
| 2. Atlanta Hawks |
Marvin Williams, SF, North Carolina: The draft will swing on what Atlanta opts to do with its pick. Williams is the top talent on the board, but with Josh Smith and Josh Childress in place, he's not a need pick. Charlotte may dangle its two first-rounders to move up here, and word is the Hawks are listening to offers. It wouldn't be surprising if the Hawks take Williams and then try and do something with Al Harrington, who could be disgruntled with the addition of a player with such similar skills.
| 3. Utah Jazz |
Deron Williams, PG, Illinois: The Trail Blazers almost had to trade this pick, as the top players available are both point guards and would've clashed with last year's pick Sebastian Telfair. Utah has reportedly beaten Charlotte to the punch in moving up and will bring in the Illini point guard they covet.
| 4. New Orleans Hornets |
Chris Paul, PG, Wake Forest: Paul has the game and intangibles to be an All-Star in this league, and will have a great coach to work with in Byron Scott. He'll help ease the loss of Baron Davis, setting up a promising young backcourt combo alongside J.R. Smith.
| 5. Charlotte Bobcats |
Raymond Felton, PG, North Carolina : Felton ends up as the surprise of the Top 5, going ahead of preps Martell Webster and Gerald Green as Bernie Bickerstaff and Co. tabs his point guard of the future. The fact the South Carolina native is a local drawing card could be the final deal-maker.
| 6. Portland Trail Blazers |
Martell Webster, SF, Seattle Prep (Wash.): Having swung the deal that lands them Williams, the Jazz select Webster for the Blazers, who really like his pro-ready body, maturity and shooting stroke.
| 7. Toronto Raptors |
Gerald Green, SG, Houston Gulf Shores HS (Texas): The Raptors have been approached about a package that would send this pick and the No. 16 to New Orleans for Jamaal Magloire and a throw-in. As of now, they're sleeping on it, weighing the potential of a Chris Bosh-Magloire post tandem with the talent available here. Green, a Tracy McGrady-clone, could slide to the team that originally selected T-Mac. Interesting call. Given his lack of chemistry with current point guard Rafer Alston, Sam Mitchell could also call for the selection of Raymond Felton if he's still available.
| 8. New York Knicks |
Channing Frye, C, Arizona: Isiah Thomas has to find a big man after dealing Nazr Mohammed, and if the Knicks are moving Kurt Thomas, they need someone who can contribute immediately. The most ready of the bigs is Frye, who won't be the most impactful by a long shot.
| 9. Golden State Warriors |
Danny Granger, SF, New Mexico: The Warriors' perimeter puzzle is in great shape, so Chris Mullin could go for fellow New Yorker Chris Taft and hope his great upside eventually takes over. For the purposes of this mock draft, we'll predict they will go for the best available player, four-year senior Granger.
| 10. L.A. Lakers |
Fran Vazquez, PF, Unicaja Malaga (Spain): Despite reportedly not wowing scouts upon coming overseas for a pair of weekend workouts, he's still the most ready European commodity and can defend, rebound and finish around the basket. Phil Jackson can't have enough of those types.
| 11. Orlando Magic |
Antoine Wright, SG, Texas A&M: The Magic are in the fortunate predicament of having three players they really like on the board with Wright, Hakim Warrick and Sean May still around. The guess here is that Wright, who put on a show for them in his individual workout, gets the nod.
| 12. L.A. Clippers |
Yaroslsav Korolev, CSKA Moscow (Russia): There are rumors the Clips have offered Korolev a guarantee, intrigued by the fact he's 6-9, has a fabulous perimeter game and unlimited potential. He'd be the youngest Russian ever drafted.
| 13. Charlotte Bobcats |
Charlie Villanueva, F, Connecticut: The Bobcats have had the versatile Villanueva in for numerous workouts and could add him to a frontcourt rotation that includes college teammate Emeka Okafor and Primoz Brezec.
| 14. Minnesota Timberwolves |
Hakim Warrick, F, Syracuse: Kevin McHale wants someone who could make an immediate impact, and for our money, Warrick's can't-miss athleticism should make him the weapon of choice. Rex Chapman knows athletes, no?
| 15. New Jersey Nets |
Andrew Bynum, C, St. Joseph's HS (N.J.): May might also be the choice here, but Jersey is another one of the teams that likes the promise of the mammoth high schooler, and could make his transition easier by keeping him home.
| 16. Toronto Raptors |
Sean May, PF, North Carolina: A strong pick that makes up for last year's selection of Rafael Araujo, giving the team a legitimate post guy who would help Bosh drift out to the perimeter. If the Hornets get T.O. to bite on the Magloire deal, this wouldn't be a bad place for the Raptors to start rebuilding their post game.
| 17. Indiana Pacers |
Roko Leni-Ukic, PG, Split (Croatia): The Pacers are said to really like the Croatian combo guard, who would give them great versatility in the backcourt and serve as insurance in case Jamaal Tinsley's foot problems reappear.
| 18. Boston Celtics |
Jarrett Jack, PG, Georgia Tech: Danny Ainge has proven to be a draft genius, making this selection a no-brainer. Even if they keep Gary Payton, Jack seems like a more able candidate to run this squad than the erratic Marcus Banks.
| 19. Memphis Grizzlies |
Ersan Ilyasova, F, Ulker (Turkey): If Jerry West goes with the advice of prized international scout Tony Barone, the selection will be Ilyasova, the Turkish 18-year-old who has captured much attention. He'd go over the likes of Wayne Simien, Andray Blatche and Julius Hodge.
| 20. Denver Nuggets |
Rashad McCants, SG, North Carolina: It doesn't sound like a good fit, but George Karl is a Carolina guy who is eccentric enough to make this relationship work.
| 21. Phoenix Suns |
Joey Graham, SG/SF, Oklahoma State: Not only does Graham provide depth if Quentin Richardson is dealt, and he'd give the Suns a potential lock-down defender who would be essential come playoff time.
| 22. Denver Nuggets |
Martynas Andriuskevicius, C, Zalgiris (Lithuania): The Nuggets are interested in someone they can develop in Europe, and the 7-foot-3 Lithuanian could be a potential steal if he's able to bulk up and make a difference down the road.
| 23. Sacramento Kings |
Chris Taft, PF/C, Pittsburgh: Someone has to stop his slide, and it might as well be a team with one of the keenest eyes for talent. It just depends on whether Taft can develop the worth ethic to make his potential come to fruition. Francisco Garcia is another possibility.
| 24. Houston Rockets |
Ike Diogu, F, Arizona State:Yes, he's under-sized, but needing a traditional power forward as badly as they do, Houston absolutely has to make this move if Diogu is still on the board.
| 25. Seattle SuperSonics |
Andray Blatche, C, South Kent Prep (Conn.): The Sonics can afford to take a gamble on this 6-11 project who never seriously entertained going to college. Blatche worked with Rashard Lewis.
| 26. Detroit Pistons |
Ryan Gomes, SF, Providence: The Pistons return their nucleus intact, and a player like Gomes adds more quality depth off the bench.
| 27. Portland Trail Blazers |
Johan Petro, C, Pau Ortez (France): Reportedly having acquired this pick along with No. 6 from Utah, the Blazers could go for a safer pick like a Garcia or Simien, but the 7-foot Petro's upside makes him a pretty intriguing prospect.
| 28. San Antonio Spurs |
Francisco Garcia, G, Louisville: Garcia is a player with the competitive drive Gregg Popovich appreciates and could eventually serve as a nice weapon for the Spurs on the wing.
| 29. Miami Heat |
Matt Walsh, SG, Florida: The Heat like Walsh's intangibles and shooting ability, but could also take a flier on a center project like Randolph Morris if he slips this far.
| 30. New York Knicks |
Monta Ellis, G, Jackson Lanier HS (Miss.): Why would the Knicks draft another undersized shooter who needs to be converted to the point? Simple. He'd have the most upside of anyone left not from Europe.
