Maybe Heat could use defender at foul line

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- There will be plenty of talk until Game 6's tip, as Detroit survived in Game 5 with a 91-78 victory Wednesday night.

There will be talk about the catastrophic collective performance of offseason Miami additions Jason Williams, Antoine Walker and Gary Payton, combining to convert just six of their 22 shots.

There will be talk of a terrific Tayshaun Prince, the forward with the birdcage chest but the cagey game, the spindliest Piston but the one strong enough to transport this series back to South Florida.

"He carried us a lot," coach Flip Saunders said.

There will be talk about the stuff of legend, turned in by Ben Wallace on a certain defiant center.

"That was a foul, young lady," Shaquille O'Neal said to a female reporter. "You know it was a foul. Don't ask dumb questions."

OK, so there won't be much talk about that, if everyone smaller than 330 pounds knows what is good for them.

There will be talk about Pat Riley and Saunders and their dueling zones, about Udonis Haslem and Rasheed Wallace and their dueling misses, about Dwyane Wade and his still-surreal 65.8 shooting percentage, about the Pistons' resilience and on and on, blah, blah, blah.

You want to end the conversation?

All the clutter?

All the over-analysis?

Six of 20.

Twenty-three of 26.
