Armstrong suspended for 'inappropriate actions' after ejection

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers guard Darrell Armstrong, who was ejected during a loss to Denver on Friday, was suspended by the NBA for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Armstrong began arguing with official Eli Roe midway through the fourth quarter of Friday's game after he disagreed with a call. He was given two technical fouls and ejected, then followed Roe and continued to talk to him before being restrained by teammates.

NBA executive vice president Stu Jackson said Sunday the suspension was for "inappropriate actions" following the ejection and for publicly criticizing the officiating.

Armstrong said after Friday's game that the Pacers haven't been treated fairly by officials since the brawl with Detroit Pistons fans in November 2004.

"Referees are calling our games like we're the brawl team from two years ago. We're not," Armstrong said. "We're the team that's playing in 2006 and 2007 and it's just sad because we get treated like that."
