Former No. 1 pick Bogut frustrated, wants more touches

"His game is there," Williams said. "It's just a matter of developing and playing at a superstar level. His game is only going to evolve. He's going to be an All-Star one day. It's just a matter of time until he becomes one.

"Good teams need an inside presence. That's what he's been for us."

The Bucks have struggled, and that has been hard on Bogut. After making the playoffs last season, the Bucks were expected to improve, but instead they've regressed.

Because of the injuries, especially with Redd out, Milwaukee is last in the Central Division and appears headed to the lottery. It's doubtful the Bucks would get the No. 1 pick again, but anything is possible.

Bogut said there is no pressure associated with being the first player taken.

"I don't really care about the No. 1 pick thing anymore," Bogut said. "I had a terrific college career. I deserved to be the No. 1 pick judging on how I did in college."

He's also turning out to be a good pro, even though he doesn't realize the improvements he made from last year. But Bogut wants to be a star, and he believes it will happen one day.

Bogut wants to be mentioned with James, Howard and Ming as recent No. 1 picks who have thrived. He doesn't want to be known as another Brown, Martin or Olowokandi.

"I just need to keep working hard," Bogut said. "I'm still young. The bigger picture, what I'm going to be doing in the next couple of years and where I'm going to be, it's still there for me. Hopefully it will happen."
