Hawks' Nicolas Brussino: Picked up by Hawks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brussino was claimed off waivers by the Hawks on Saturday, Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Brussino, who was let go by the Mavericks on July 20, has been picked up by the Hawks. He showed some promise last season in limited minutes, but Dallas seemingly felt he wasn't worth the money he would have been guaranteed had they held onto him. The Hawks, however, are deep in rebuilding mode and jumped on the opportunity to add a wing player to the mix. Brussino averaged 2.8 points and 1.7 boards across 9.6 minutes per game last season. His potential workload for the upcoming season is pretty up in the air, though it seems possible he could garner a similar role for the Hawks.

Hawks' Dewayne Dedmon: Inks two-year contract with Hawks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dedmon has agreed to a two-year, $14 million contract with the Hawks.

Dedmon declined a $3 million player option with the Spurs for the upcoming season, which was clearly the right call, as he'll see a significant pay raise with his move to Atlanta. So far this offseason, the Hawks traded away Dwight Howard and lost Paul Millsap to the Nuggets in free agency, so Dedmon should jump in and provide some much-needed frontcourt help. With Miles Plumlee, John Collins and Mike Muscala all in the fold at center, Dedmon isn't guaranteed a starting role, but the value of his contract does suggest he'll be a significant part of the team's regular rotation.

Hawks' Ersan Ilyasova: Staying with Hawks
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ilyasova has agreed to a one-year, $6 million contract with the Hawks, The Vertical's Shams Charania reports.

Ilyasova bounced from the Thunder to the 76ers before landing in Atlanta for the latter portion of the 2016-17 season, averaging 13.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 26 minutes per game throughout his campaign. He'll continue to provide shooting off the bench as a stretch-four, but could potentially start at power forward if first-rounder John Collins isn't ready out of the gate.

Hawks' Tyler Dorsey: Sprains ankle, won't play Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dorsey won't play during Wednesday's summer league matchup against the Pelicans due to a sprained right ankle, Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The severity of the injury hasn't been reported, though it's likely that the Hawks are just playing it safe with their prospect. He played just six minutes during Monday's game against the Bulls.
