Rockets' Patrick Beverley: Facing three-week recovery timetable
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beverley plans to undergo a minor surgical scope on his left knee next week and is expected to miss three weeks, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Coach Mike D'Antoni estimated Friday that Beverley would likely miss at least 20 games regardless of what treatment method he chose for the sore knee, but Wojnarowski's report paints a more optimistic outlook for the point guard. Even so, the three-week timetable would put Beverley on course to miss about 10 games, and it's far from a given that he'll be ready to go by mid-November, as he'll still have to regain conditioning after missing all of the preseason. Beverley's absence theoretically allows Pablo Prigioni and Tyler Ennis to climb up a peg on the depth chart, but there's a good possibility that backcourt starters Eric Gordon and James Harden will simply take on even more ball-handling responsibilities in the interim.

Rockets' Nene Hilario: Scores 15 points in spot start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hilario scored 15 points (7-8 FG, 1-3 FT) and added four rebounds, one assist and one steal across 19 minutes in Friday's 114-99 preseason loss to the Spurs.

Hilario entered the starting lineup in place of a resting Clint Capela and showcased some efficient scoring in the outing, though this likely represents close to the upper bound of what we'd see from him when the regular season arrives. The veteran big man is valued mostly for his work on the defensive end, and will likely be asked to play around 20 minutes per game behind Capela.

Rockets' Pablo Prigioni: Plays 19 minutes in return from injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Prigioni (shoulder) scored 10 points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT) and added one assist across 19 minutes in Friday's 114-99 preseason loss to the Spurs.

Prigioni had sat out the previous two games with a left shoulder sprain, but was given some run Friday while the Rockets rested numerous key rotation players in the preseason finale. With Patrick Beverley expected to miss about three weeks after requiring a left knee scope, Prigioni will presumably move up to the second spot on the depth chart. However, Prigioni doesn't figure to see many minutes behind starter James Harden, who routinely sees one of the league's largest workloads.

Rockets' Patrick Beverley: Expected to miss at least 20 games
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Beverley (knee) is expected to miss at least 20 games to start the regular season, Calvin Watkins of ESPN reports.

Head coach Mike D'Antoni revealed this news Friday evening, and admitted the injury "complicates" things as the team attempts to make its final roster cuts. A 20 game absence would equate to roughly 5-6 weeks on the sideline for the guard. Pablo Prigioni and Tyler Ennis figure to compete for James Harden's primary back up role at point guard, while Eric Gordon and K.J. McDaniels could see an increased workload in the backcourt.

Rockets' Corey Brewer: Starting Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brewer is in the starting rotation for Friday's preseason finale.

The Rockets opted to rest a majority of their starters for this contest. Brewer is filling in for Trevor Ariza, who he figures to back up heading into the season. Brewer should have a heavy workload Friday.
