Clippers' Luc Mbah a Moute: Practices Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Mbah a Moute (knee) went through a full practice Saturday, Jovan Buha of ESPN reports.

Mbah a Moute missed practice earlier in the week after sustaining a bruise to his knee, but the issue is nothing serious, and the forward said he plans to play in the regular season opener against Portland on Thursday.

Clippers' Paul Pierce: Not ready for opener
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Pierce (leg) is not expected to practice this week nor be ready for the team's season opener against against the Trail Blazers, Rowan Carter of Clippers.com reports

Pierce is entering his final season in the league in likely his most limited role to date. He posted career lows across the board statistically last season, and figures to continue that trend this year. He still figures to provide depth off the bench, and head coach Doc Rivers will have no problem inserting the veteran in the game when his experience would be valuable. It is unclear at this point when he will make his season debut.

Clippers' Paul Pierce: Misses practice Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Pierce (ankle) sat out Thursday's practice, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Pierce picked up the right ankle sprain during warmups prior to Tuesday's preseason finale against the Kings, when he stepped on the foot of a sideline reporter. It may take a couple of days before the extent of the fluky injury is known, but fantasy owners needn't pay too much attention to the developments. After averaging just 6.1 points over 18.1 minutes per game in 2015-16, Pierce is barely a rotation player at this stage of his career and could see his playing time dip further in 2016-17 with Blake Griffin back to full health after missing the majority of last season due to injury.

Clippers' Luc Mbah a Moute: Misses practice Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Mbah a Moute is dealing with bruised right knee and was held out of practice Thursday, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Coach Doc Rivers indicated he expects Mbah a Moute to return to practice in a day or two, so it's not a serious issue. The Clippers have already completed their preseason schedule, so Mbah a Moute will turn his attention toward getting ready for the Oct. 27 opener against the Trail Blazers. It remains to be seen whether Rivers will name Mbah a Moute as the team's starting small forward, but that should be clarified one way or another within the next week.

Clippers' Wesley Johnson: Scores 11 points Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson contributed 11 points (4-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 22 minutes during Tuesday's preseason win over the Kings.

Johnson has been in a competition for the starting small forward job throughout the preseason with Luc Mbah a Moute and Alan Anderson. Anderson was limited to just five minutes of action, and while Mbah a Moute continues to be the starter, he didn't do much to distance himself over Johnson, as he was limited to nine points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. While it looks like Mbah a Moute will be the opening day starter for the Clippers, Johnson has at least carved himself out a role and should continue to push for the starting job.
