76ers' Ben Simmons: Hopes to return after All-Star break
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Barring a setback, Simmons (foot) is hopeful to return following the All-Star break, but likely closer to March, ESPN.com reports.

There was buzz on Wednesday that Simmons could be in line to return Jan. 27 after the 76ers got bumped into a nationally televised game, but coach Brett Brown shot down those rumors by stating there is "no chance" Simmons will be available. The first overall pick took participated in 5-on-5 drills for the first time last week, and his current rehab is focused on gradually increasing his conditioning and on-court workload. It should be noted that the team could still opt to hold the rookie out the entire season in order to ensure his health going forward, but the goal as of now is for him to return shortly before March.

76ers' Sergio Rodriguez: Will return to the bench Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rodriguez will return to the bench for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Rodriguez drew the start in Monday's game against the Bucks with T.J. McConnell (wrist) sitting out, posting 10 points, seven rebounds, and six assists across 32 minutes. With McConnell healthy and returning to the starting five, Rodriguez will head to the bench and could see his playing time drop into the mid-to-low 20's, which greatly hurts his fantasy potential.

76ers' T.J. McConnell: Will start at point guard Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

McConnell will start at point guard in Wednesday's game against the Raptors.

McConnell suffered from a right wrist injury Saturday against Washington and missed Monday's game against the Bucks, but he will officially return to the starting lineup after being ruled active Wednesday. His return also officially sends backup Sergio Rodriguez back to the bench.

76ers' Joel Embiid: Will start at center Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Embiid (illness) will start at center for Wednesday's matchup with the Raptors, Tom Moore of Calkins Media reports.

Embiid has been dealing with an illness over the last few days, but after receiving treatment up until pregame Wednesday, he's now feeling good enough to take the court. He'll move back into the starting lineup and should be capped at about 28 minutes as usual. Nerlens Noel (ankle) is also active and playing, which could mean Jahlil Okafor drops out of the rotation yet again.

76ers' Ben Simmons: Won't be available for primetime game vs. Rockets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Brett Brown said Wednesday that there is "no chance" Simmons will be available for next Friday's matchup with the Rockets, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

This isn't exactly breaking news, but Brown was asked about the Jan. 27 date after Simmons, himself, posted a somewhat-cryptic Instagram photo Tuesday, following the announcement that the game would be moved to primetime. Some took the post as an indication that Simmons would potentially make his debut against the Rockets, but Brown's comments Wednesday would appear to rule that out. As such, the overall expectation continues to be that Simmons will be cleared for game action sometime in February, but it wouldn't be a surprise if the Sixers take as many precautions as possible.
