PLAYER NOTES

--F Paul Pierce battled hand and foot injuries against the Heat, going 0-for-10 from the floor and scoring just one point, but the Celtics announced Monday that tests revealed no significant injuries, and he's expected to play Wednesday. However, he also was expected to sit out practices scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. The last time Pierce went without a field goal was Dec. 13, 2000 against Chicago. He went 0-for-7 from the floor and 9-for-10 from the free throw line in 31 minutes. Pierce avoided going scoreless for the first time since a March 9, 1999, stint against the Charlotte Hornets (0-1 in 10 minutes).

--F Glen Davis had 16 points off the bench for the Celtics against Miami. His last two came from the free throw line with 6.3 seconds left to create the final score. He was upset after going a combined 4-for-15 in losses to Charlotte and the Lakers. "I just feel like the last couple of games I haven't been myself -- especially with the way I started the year off," said Davis. "I feel like I've been going up and down, up and down, and I told myself (Sunday) that I was going to be aggressive."

--G Delonte West wasn't in uniform against Miami Sunday, but there is a good chance he will play against New Jersey on Wednesday. "It would be great to get him a game in before the break," said coach Doc Rivers. "But we'll wait and see, because we're going to practice Monday and Tuesday, and that will give him a chance to take a lot of hits. Our doctors just want to wait."

MEDICAL WATCH

--F Paul Pierce (foot, hand) played through his injuries Sunday and is expected to be back in the lineup Wednesday.

--G Delonte West (broken right wrist) is back practicing with the team. He is expected to play Wednesday against New Jersey.
