With a handful of games left in the season and their playoff chances extinguished, the Bobcats' coaching staff has started giving some thought to the offseason -- an offseason that could be extended considerably by an expected lockout.
In all likelihood that lockout would wipe out summer league, which would be counter-productive to the development of the Bobcats' two first-round picks in June (their own lottery pick and a Hornets pick via Portland).
A lockout would preclude any interaction between coaches and players after July 1. So coach Paul Silas has suggested some of the younger core players stay in Charlotte for a few weeks after the season to work on individual skills.
For instance, they'd like Stephen Silas to work with Gerald Henderson on his ball-handling.
HEAT 112, BOBCATS 103: Dwyane Wade drew five fouls from Gerald Henderson in Henderson's first 11 minutes, while scoring 27 points off just 12 shots from the field in a schooling for the Bobcats.
