Bulls report: Getting inside

Maybe it's an encouraging sign that the Bulls have plenty of room to improve but are still sitting on a 4-2 record while playing a tough schedule at the start of the season.

None of the team's projected scoring leaders have played their best. Guard John Salmons scored 27 in Saturday's win over Charlotte but is shooting just 34.5 percent this season. Guard Derrick Rose (12.3 points) is still getting back into game shape after missing most of the preseason with an ankle injury. Guard Kirk Hinrich is also shooting well below 40 percent from the field.

The Bulls are shooting just 26 percent as a team from 3-point range and hit 24 fewer 3-point baskets than their opponents. Their turnovers have also been high at times, including 21 against the Bobcats.

On the positive side, forward Luol Deng (16.7 points) is off to a decent start after recovering from a stress fracture in his right shin. Center Joakim Noah (11.3 points, 11.0 rebounds) has shown great improvement, and the Bulls' defense has been solid.

"We're still finding ways to win, and that's a good sign," coach Vinny Del Negro said after the Charlotte game.

Next up is a home game against Denver and high-scoring forward Carmelo Anthony on Tuesday. The Bulls have won three straight against the Nuggets at the United Center.

A victory would be quite a milestone. The Bulls haven't been three games over .500 in November since the 1997-98 season.

BULLS 93, BOBCATS 90: The Bulls had to rally from nine points down late in the third quarter but managed to win their third straight game on Saturday at the United Center. Guard John Salmons scored 27 points, while center Joakim Noah produced a career-high 21 points to go with 16 rebounds. Trailing 70-61 with 3:43 remaining in the third quarter, the Bulls went on a 20-2 run over the next six minutes. They almost squandered a late lead after missing five straight free throws in the final two minutes, but Charlotte's Flip Murray missed a pair of 3-point shots that could have tied the score in the waning seconds.

Here is the Official Chi-Town Bulls Guess the Stat, Get the Props Game. I worked with ChiTown1 and we figured out the best way to run things. Here is how the game works. You pick who will have the most points, rebounds, assist, steals, blocks, and turnovers. You can only pick players that are on the Bulls squad though. Don't ...(more)

Turns out that Tyrus Thomas has not had his contract extended for next year, deadline was Monday. This coupled with the Flu and having him not traveling with the team leads some to suspect that he may not be long in Chicago.

I think Thomas is an atheletic freak and has shown some sparks at times. He could be a very

What makes us think that Dwayne Wade will make us infinetley better? We already have Heinrich who is a starting guard on most teams in the league. Not to mention Salmons.

And we already have a player much like Wade in Derrick Rose. They both slash to the basket, and having two basket slashers is not a winning formula.

Since the Bulls drafted Joakim Noah number 9 over all a few years ago, i have been smashing him. He could only be productive in college, i said. I said he was to slim and his passion play could only get him so far in the NBA. I said this for a long time.

Is it just me, or does Rose play the least amount of minutes for a supposed best player out of any team in the NBA?

Against the Bobcats, Rose played for 30 minutes while Hinirch played for 33. What the heck is that? Hinirch is good and is a sixth man. But why can't him and Salmons switch? Salmons played over 40 minutes. Whats w

We already miss Gordon. We have no one that can score like he can. This is another bad game by the Bulls. This is a Joke.  I dont mind having a bad year this year but we better make sure we get Wade.  This is bad.  Also why is Gibson getting all these Min. He looks like he will be a good back up but he is playing too many Min ...(more)

Loul Deng is of to a great start, hitting jumpers, playing physical, and even making a occasional 3 pointer.

17.2 points per game / 9.8 rebounds a game

This is what we all expected from him when the Bulls signed him to a new contract. Hes had some injury set backs over the last 2 years, but right now he is looking real

Thomas is out 4-6 weeks with a broken forearm from lifting. This isnt good news for the Bulls.  I think we will see more playing time from Johnson now. Gibson will be the starter.  Someone else needs to bring the energy now.  I hope Bulls come out of this ok.
