Bulls report: Getting inside

The Bulls were no doubt glad to be home again. Playing at the United Center for the first time since Nov. 14, they snapped a five-game losing streak by beating Detroit on Wednesday.

There are a few good signs as the Bulls sit with a 7-9 record:

--Since vowing not to cut his hair until he started playing more aggressively, guard Derrick Rose has averaged 19.8 points, and 4.8 assists, while shooting 51.5 percent in the last six games.

--Guard John Salmons, off to a miserable start with his outside shot this season, has scored at least 20 points in three of the last four games. During that time, he's shooting 49.1 percent.

--The Bulls are coming up on a stretch where they play 14 of 19 games at home.

First, though, the Bulls make their second trip of the season to Cleveland on Friday. They pulled out an 86-85 victory at Quicken Loans Arena on Nov. 5. The Bulls got balanced scoring in that game, with five players in double-figures, and won it with a defensive stop. LeBron James went to the basket and lost the ball out of bounds when he ran into center Joakim Noah just before time ran out.

James had two 41-point games last season against the Bulls and scored a more reasonable 25 in the Nov. 5 contest. Guard Derrick Rose collected a season-high 11 assists for the Bulls that night.

BULLS 92, PISTONS 85: The return of ex-Bulls shooting guard Ben Gordon was not an artistic success, but the Bulls started quickly and ended a five-game losing streak by beating Detroit 92-85 on Wednesday at the United Center. Gordon's participation was in doubt until just before tip-off because he'd missed the two previous games with a sprained left ankle. He ended up coming off the bench and led the Pistons with 18 points. The Bulls jumped to a 24-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and when Detroit closed within three points early in the third, the home team responded with an 11-0 run. Guard John Salmons led the Bulls with 22 points, while guard Derrick Rose added 19.

I know we have seen this thread about a dozen times in the Bulls forum. But this is not about A.I. coming to play but more about what every is saying. I just read this on NBA.com and would like the thoughts of my fellow Bulls fans.

Nobody wants A.I.? Here are seven teams that should

I read in an article that an option at SG for tomorrows game against the Bucks could be James Johnson.
With Hinrich most likely out against Milwaukie, the Bulls have Rose,Salmons,Pargo and Hunter to use in th

Brad Miller can't seem to do anything anymore. He misses his wide-open jumpshot all the time now. He's paid to make that shot when's wide open, but he seems to miss is every single time! He seems to get out-rebounded every night too. Players on other teams fight way harder than him for the rebound which whenever he's in the other ...(more)

While it's only been 8 games so far, and with a 4-4 record, (3-1 at home and 1-3 on the road) the team has had it's good times and down times so far in the early part of 09/10.  I've really liked what I've seen with our defense this season.  We are a much better defensive squad than we were a year ago, however, it must be said that our offense is much worse than it was a year ago.&n ...(more)

(POLL) This is a very touchy subject among nba guru's and it sure will stir up some debate and controversies, however, being the statistical nut that I am, I've done my best to determine the top 200 NBA Players as we speak right now for 2009/2010 NBA Season. (Injured players included).

My top 10 players in the nba would be: 1.

Gordon was the best player on the team the past 5 years.  The Bulls didn't want to pay him.  Why the boos?  Why is he the bad guy?

I would very much like to personally Gacy everyone of those fans.

Here is the Chi-Town Bulls Pick for the Props Game. Im making this new thread because we've added a part da game where on the days that the Bulls play you pick the winners for the games on that day besides the winner in the Bulls game. Why not the bulls game? cause i would think that all Bulls fans would pick their team to win. aigh ...(more)

I couldn't resist to start off a thread involving Breakout Performances for 2009/2010. Sure it's only been about 13 or so games into the season so far, but there are several players who are worth taking notice to. These guys have all stepped up and become better players whether it be starting or coming off the bench, here are the Breakout Performers for 2009/2010 so far.

Thomas is out 4-6 weeks with a broken forearm from lifting. This isnt good news for the Bulls.  I think we will see more playing time from Johnson now. Gibson will be the starter.  Someone else needs to bring the energy now.  I hope Bulls come out of this ok.

why not ??   their not going anywhere without allen iverson,  why not see if he can provide some offensive spark and team energy..  he can start ahead of salmons who would provide offense off the bench..

give iverson a one year  deal and see where it takes you, if it fails it cost nothing to waive him...

Here is the Official Chi-Town Bulls Guess the Stat, Get the Props Game. I worked with ChiTown1 and we figured out the best way to run things. Here is how the game works. You pick who will have the most points, rebounds, assist, steals, blocks, and turnovers. You can only pick players that are on the Bulls squad though. Don't ...(more)

The Bulls problem so far this year is they can't play both ends of floor at a high level at the same time.  This could be signs of a relatively young team.  If a young team improves and exerts more energy on one end physically and mentally they get complacent on the other.  Finally when the Bulls players are starting to shoot ...(more)
