--The Cavaliers' frontcourt depth has suddenly gone awry. Coach Byron Scott said he was going to shut down C Semih Erden and F Luke Harangody until at least the Oklahoma City game on Sunday. The 7-foot, 240-pound Erden is plagued by a strained groin. "We'll probably shut him down for the rest of this week," Scott said. "He needs to continue to get work on hip and groin area. We'll have to see how it goes the next three or four days." Harangody suffered a hip pointer in the San Antonio game, his first with the Cavs. He came back to play in the New York and New Orleans games, but the injury kept getting worse.
--It turns out that C Semih Erden does speak English. "He understands more than he lets on," Cavs coach Byron Scott said. "Around us, he's pretty good. I don't think the language barrier is that big a deal (for him)." The 7-footer had five rebounds in his first game with the Cavs on Sunday. "He played pretty good," Scott said. "He's a very good role guy. He's a good screen-setter. He's good on the defensive end. We had a time restraint on him. I liked what we saw last night. I want to see more."
--G Daniel Gibson, who missed the previous three games with a bruised thigh, returned to action on Tuesday for the first time since the Feb. 27. He made a three-pointer against the Warriors on Tuesday, but just doesn't look healthy.
