--In this week's Sports Illustrated poll, 152 players were asked, "Who is the best flopper in the game?" Almost a quarter (22 percent) selected C Anderson Varejao, followed by Spurs G Manu Ginobili (18 percent) and Rockets F Luis Scola (7 percent). Of course, Varejao was lost for the season after having foot surgery. F/C Samardo Samuels seems to be picking up right where Varejao left off.
--G Baron Davis said after practice Monday he wasn't ready to step into the starting lineup. Something must have changed before Tuesday's shootaround. Coach Byron Scott announced that Davis would make his first start since coming to the Cavs on Feb. 24. Scott said he left the decision up to Davis. Davis ended with 10 points and seven assists against the Heat.
--Don't be shocked if G Baron Davis becomes a coach when his playing days are over. He said he's coached on the AAU level and at a lot of basketball camps. "I can definitely see myself coaching," he said. "As far as being a head coach, I'd have to mature a lot more."
--C Anderson Varejao (torn tendon in right foot) had surgery Feb. 12. He'll miss three to four months.
--C Semih Erden (strained adductor muscle) has appeared in only one game since being traded to the Cavs.
--F/C Samardo Samuels (sprained right wrist) probably will miss the rest of the week.
