--Kobe Bryant has been reluctant to address his discontent with the state of the Lakers in recent publicity appearances, saying: "I'm not going to beat a dead horse in the head anymore."

--Rookie guard Coby Karl, son of Nuggets coach George Karl, was impressive for the Lakers' summer-league team in Las Vegas and should get an invitation to October training camp if he doesn't go elsewhere.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"There have been a ton of rumors about different players and what not, but I don't think we need to do that much." -- Luke Walton, on the Lakers' roster.

OK, I like Ron Artest, but I'm not sure I like him that much!  The contract he signed just last night was, according to Ken Berger anyway, for five years with an early termination option after the fourth year.  That's a much bigger deal than I thought he was being signed to.

#37 refers to the number of consecutive weeks Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album charted

OK It's July 8th and I came to this site hoping to confirm that Lamar Odom has re-signed with the Lakers but not a hint of what's to come.  As for Ron Ron he is On On!  It's official for both Ron Artest and Shannon Brown they are both Lakers.  I have heard of the proposed deals but would be interested in hearing the final det ...(more)

Now that all the details have come out we find out that Ariza really didnt wanna leave LA and LA didnt want Ariza to leave. It comes down to David Lee caring more about his percentage than his clients best interest. This kid went to highschool, college in Cali and was now was living his dream as a Los Angelos Laker. Blazer fan here. Born in L.A. and moved to Portland at a very young age. I'm a lifelong Dodger fan, but unfortunately Portland had to have an NBA team otherwise I would have been a Laker fan too. It figures that the one L.A. team I get stuck with are the underachieving Dodgers. How I wish I was a Laker fan! The team I hate the most is the team I most wish I was a fan of.

After yet

Well this thread is about comparing Trevor Ariza potential versus Ron Artest now.

I put Ariza as potential because obviously the better player now is Artest.

So lets compare each player on the defensive and offensive gam

Alot of teams have made a fury of moves to improve their teams to challenge the Lakers next year and alot of fans are becoming skeptcal that the lakers can repeat but i have to be honest i really dont see the reason to panic.  I mean, obviously if the lakers do not re-sign both ariza and odom i see the reason to worry but with the move ...(more)

First of let me say what a great season the Lakers had proving they had the toughness to compete and win a title. There is no doubt in my mind that they are posed to win another couple champions in the upcoming years ahead.....here the problem I'm facing..

Now that we got Artest, will we have any locker room problems? I think that if we keep Odom there wont be because they both use to play together when they were younger and there probably freinds, so Odom, a leader probably will be able to keep Artest under control if he has a problem. But now the question is will we keep Odom, and if we dont who will we get? We also could have just came ...(more)
