--The Grizzlies put the saddle on F Zach Randolph and rode the big guy in the last six minutes to victory, as he scored 11 of his 23 points in the game's final 5:09.
At point, he scored eight of his team's 10 points, powering in hooks despite getting banged around by bigger players.
"I love having the game on me," Randolph said. "I got a lot of double-teams the whole game, but it loosened up toward the end. They guarded me one-one and I was able to dominate."
--Memphis hit a lull in the fourth quarter while G Mike Conley was taking a breather. But it was no coincidence that the Grizzlies rallied when Conley, who had 12 points, four assists and two blocked shots, re-entered the game and steadied the ship.
"I just want to be the leader, the guy that spearheads this team in the right direction," Conley said. "I think I'm doing a good job, but I have to keep it going."
--It was a sweet shooting night for reserve guard O.J. Mayo, who scored 17 points, including 4-of-6 three-pointers. That was his most threes since hitting five against the Spurs on Dec. 18.
"Coach (Lionel Hollins) told me to shoot and not think about it," Mayo said. "If I'm open, I shoot. That's what they want me to do."
