--G Vince Carter lives along the water in Weehawken, NJ. So on Thursday, he was stunned when he saw a plane land in the Hudson River. Carter saw the miraculous landing of US Airways flight 1549 that came down in the river after a flock of gulls jammed the engines.
"I was just sitting there, looking out the window," Carter said. "I was just sitting in the bedroom. I thought it was watching TV. It landed like it was a movie. It hit like nose first, and you could (hear) the impact. I couldn't believe it."
--The Nets had joked much of the season about their defense. But they made some legitimate advances and had moved from the bottom of the league to a 22nd ranking. They were improving.
But then they set themselves back a mile on Wednesday and Thursday. In Boston Wednesday, they surrendered 118 points while Boston shot 56 percent. Then on Thursday at home, they could not get stops when they needed them in the fourth quarter. Portland shot 68 percent and riddled the Nets' defense in a 105-99 triumph.
"It goes up and down, just like jump shots go in and out for us," said Devin Harris. "We've made some positive strides and we do it in stretches but to consistently do it is something we have to learn to do."
QUOTE TO NOTE "Obviously, they're a good offensive team but we couldn't stop them. We tried to switch it up at the end but for everything we threw at them, their counters worked." -- G Keyon Dooling, on the Nets' inability to stop Portland in the fourth quarter Thursday.

just one question for you guys... if we get John Wall at #1 and trade Harris and our 2nd for the Pacers 5th then draft Wesley Johnson.. that we can then lure Coach Calipari to our

If both Devin Harris and Courtney Lee finish out the season strong, both averaging about 20 points a game and Lee can prove that he can be a starting shooting guard for years to come and Harris improves his worth so that the

I went to the game at the Meadowlands versus Cleveland, and it was painfully obvious that (a) the Nets have plenty of talent (b) KiKi is either playing favorites or just in the mood to experiment.
1) Trent Hassell was at his very best a good defender and barely a starter in the NBA, but he starts over

While other teams such as the Cavs and Mavs, are pursuing deals to make themselves better right now, it looks as if the Nets are going to sit and watch and wait for the anticipated summer of 2010. Lebron and Bosh have specified they don't want to play in NJ. We might as well put Wade in that same category. Originally Amare and J. Johnson if

And if you have been watching him play all year you can see how his lack of hustle (no 2nd effort), inability to rotate, and inability to create his own shot has made hi

This kid really has been playing good basketball. As I watch him play I can only hope he develops his jumper. I really feel he could take a lot of pressure off Harris as a scorer if he develops. He is great in the point forward role because of his great vision. I do have some reservations about the small lineup though because it takes away from Lopez as

the place i am afraid to lose lebron is the Nets, but not until 2011. i am being serious. i think that lebron will just pick up the player option on his contract next year and stay in cleveland for a championship run. then, when the nets move to brooklyn in 2011-2012, they will score lebron. it just m

I'm not surprised that the Nets didn't do anything. They didn't have any real options to do so unless they traded Hayes, Hassell, Simmons, or Battie, and no one should want them if they have to trade a pick.
Donnie Walsh should be given the ticket to the city for what he just accomplished.
I've been watching a lot more college ball this year with such a high pick. I would not be disappointed if the Nets got this kid. I really believe he fills a bigger need for us then Wall. We already have Harris and have been lacking at SG and SF for a couple years now. Turner can play both very well. I watch thi

As all the other teams run after Lebron and Wade we need to swoop in on Bosh and make him feel he's our number 1 guy to get. The other 2 are nothing more then pipe dreams.
