Notes, quotes · Roster · Getting inside

--G Chris Paul had the 300th double-double of his career in the 104-92 loss to the Timberwolves on Monday night in the New Orleans Arena. He had 17 points and 13 assists in 36-plus minutes, just two nights after playing a season-high 45 minutes against the Lakers. Paul also had six rebounds and four steals.

--G Marco Belinelli scored 15 points, tying his highest total in the last 14 games. Belinelli made 6-of-16 field goals, including 3-of-8 3-pointers. Belinelli played 28-plus minutes, the most he has played since missing two games because of a sprained ankle in mid-January and his most minutes in 15 games.

--G Willie Green was the only player to come off the bench and score in double figures. He scored 11 points, matching his highest point total in the last 33 games. It was the sixth time he has scored exactly 11 points during that stretch.

--F/C Jason Smith, returning after a one-game absence caused by flu-like symptoms, didn't start, as he had in the first two games that C Emeka Okafor was sidelined. Smith came off the bench to get five rebounds and four points in 17-plus minutes.

--C Aaron Gray started for the second consecutive game after having not started previously in two seasons with the Hornets. He was less productive than he had been two nights earlier against the Lakers, when he had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Against the Timberwolves, he had eight rebounds and four points.

--F Sasha Pavlovic, who was scoreless in less than 10 minutes in his Hornets debut two nights earlier, played 21-plus minutes, the most of any reserve. He made just 2-of-8 shots and missed all four of his 3-pointers. He blocked four shots and grabbed three rebounds.

--C Emeka Okafor (strained oblique) has missed the last four games and is expected to one or two more weeks.

--F Trevor Ariza (ankle) has missed the last two games and is day to day.
