--G Chris Paul was ineffective in the second half, which was a key to the Hornets' offensive stagnation. He missed all seven of his shots in the second half and had just three assists. For the game he scored six points (on 2-of-12 shooting), though he did have 12 assists, three steals, and none of the Hornets' 13 turnovers.
--F David West returned to his role as the Hornets' leading scorer after a one-game absence due to a death in his family. West, who averages a team-high 19.1 points per game, had 22, making 9-of-14 field goals. He also contributed nine rebounds, five assists, two steals, and one blocked shot.
--G Marco Belinelli provided a scoring boost from the bench. He scored 14 points, making 6-of-8 field goals, including both of his three-point attempts.
--F Carl Landry seemed much more comfortable in his second game as a Hornet than he did in his first. After making just 1-of-5 shots against the Timberwolves on Friday, Landry made 6-of-11 shots and scored 13 points.
--G Jarrett Jack's streak of seven consecutive games with 10 or more points came to an end in a poor performance. He scored just five points on 1-of-4 shooting and was consistently victimized defensively by the Rockets' Kevin Martin (33 points) and Kyle Lowry (18 points).
