PLAYER NOTES

--G Jarrett Jack made his first start as a Hornet against the Bulls on Monday, replacing Chris Paul, who had a concussion, and he matched his highest point total as a Hornet with 23. Jack also had four rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Jack led the Hornets in scoring during their five-game road trip (20.8).

"It wasn't necessarily my goal to come out and get 20 points," Jack said. "I just come out and try to be aggressive. If I'm aggressive, usually everyone else is aggressive. Just follow my lead from that standpoint."

--With Chris Paul sidelined, the Hornets needed a big offensive game from F David West, their leading scorer, but didn't get one. West, who generally struggles in Chicago, did so again as he made just 4-of-17 shots to finish with 11 points. He added 11 rebounds for a double-double, and also contributed four blocked shots, three assists, and one steal. In West's seven previous road games against the Bulls, he averaged 10.6 points and shot 39.7 percent.

--C Emeka Okafor continued his sub-par play since returning from a 10-game absence due to a strained oblique muscle, finishing with eight points and six rebounds. Okafor, who averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds before the injury, has averaged 7.1 points and 7.9 rebounds in the seven games since he returned. He has scored in double-figures twice, and gotten double-digit rebounds just once.

--G Marco Belinelli fell one rebound short of his first career double-double, finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds. He had his third consecutive hot-shooting game since returning to the starting lineup, making 6-of-12 field goals, including 3-of-6 three-pointers. Belinelli, who is averaging 10 points and making 43 percent of his field goals and 40 percent of his three-pointers for the season, has averaged 15.3 points and made 59 percent of his field goals, including 50 percent of his three-pointers, in the last three games.
