--F Carl Landry scored 24 points, the most he has scored since being acquired in a trade with Sacramento last month, and grabbed 10 rebounds, tying his Hornets-high, in a 102-84 loss at the Lakers on Sunday. In his two starts since replacing injured David West in the starting lineup, Landry has surpassed the statistics of West, the Hornets' leading scorer and second-leading rebounder. Landry has averaged 21.5 points (compared to West's 19.9 average) and 8.0 rebounds (compared to West's 7.6).
--In order to acquire Landry, the Hornets had to deal away Marcus Thornton, their most explosive shooting guard. With Thornton gone, the Hornets were hoping for more consistency from Marco Belinelli, but that hasn't happened. Belinelli shot poorly in the last two games of the road trip, making 4-of-16 shots, including 1-of-7 three-pointers, against the Lakers after making just 1-of-7 shots in a 106-100 victory at Phoenix on Friday.
--G Chris Paul was never able to get the Hornets into a consistent rhythm offensively. He finished with 10 points, nine assists, five rebounds, and two steals.
--G Willie Green's erratic shooting continued. He made just 3-of-10 shots and scored six points. This came two nights after making 5-of-10 shots. Before that, Green was scoreless in consecutive games and shot a combined 3-for-17 (17.6 percent) in the last three.
